It's that magical time of year ... it's called--

Wife is at a work function tonight so I came home, and not being in the habit of flicking on the TV the second I walk in, I wind up (impulsive soul that I am) cleaning the blinds and the windowsills and folding and putting away the laundry.
Sometimes I wonder if she knows how fortunate she is to have a domestic god like me around the home...

Playoff hockey is always exciting and although I stopped watching hockey regularly about 10 years ago, It's still my favourite sport. I'm not in any hockey pools ... too many decision to make ... too much time to invest and with the changing of the guard the past few years, there's many players I've never heard of. When there's hockey talk at work, some of the names that get thrown around are foreign to me.

If I had to make a pick, well, I'd pick Montreal but only because they've been my team since I was a kid. With last night's upset of the Caps, who knows? I can dream, can't I?

Well, we didn't get our dream house. Not sure If I've made note of this previously but we were planning to put an offer on this court-ordered sale of a townhouse. Beautiful place, 2,600 square, four bath, three beds, corner unit, hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling, movie room, backyard leads into a wooded area, yada, yada.
In this type of sale the house usually goes to the highest bidder and usually go below market value so we had a chance to pick it up for good price. Wife and I got kind of got our signals crossed, I assumed she'd know what I was thinking and doing and she assumed I knew what I was doing.
Short story, we didn't get out shit together in time to put in an offer and someone will soon be moving into a nice house for which they paid a nice price.
I was feeling pretty bad about is but wife reassured me that it was OK, that she wasn't totally in love with the place (she still wants a house) and that we'll find something eventually.
Thanks, I really appreciated that. I feel so much better about it today.

Tommorow we're off to see the 'rents and have an engagement dinner for wife's big bro and his fiance. Let's hope we don't encounter blizzard conditions like our friend did when she was coming home earlier this month.
