Dealing with Post-TV Shopping Stress Syndrome

This post is probably more of interest to any guy who likes watching movies or sports ...

I'm slightly hungover today but it wasn't brought on by wine, beer or generous amounts of any spirits (that was Sunday morning). I'm feeling the after-effects of shopping for the right LCD TV at the right price.
We've done our research and have pretty much narrowed it down to a Sony Bravia. After negoiating with a pretty nice salesperson at one box store he comes back with a price for a 52-inch screen and a stand--$2,030, plus taxes. Original price was about $2,130.
Not bad but still a hefty chunk of change for most people and we are most people, at least some of the time. Once in while I think we're pretty special. So, the salesman, whose just trying to close the deal says "Judging by your reaction, it looked like you were expecting more off the price than I came up with."
Well, sort of, but it was also that two grand is a lot of cash and we would have been buying a stand that we really don't care for--so, spending more money to save money when we could have saved more by purchasing a nicer-looking stand somewhere else. We found another Sony, a 46-inch at another store for the same price as the big box place and they would have it delivered to our city - another plus - so we might go with that and get the stand we really wanted for a couple hundred bucks less somewhere else.
In the end, we burned off almost three hours and came away with nothing other than feelings of mild frustration followed by annoyance at having to come home to our TV and watch it in a split screen format.
